The true meaning of Christmas is shared during Carols at the Symphony Hall

17.12.2013

Three thousand people attended Christmas with The Salvation Army in the Symphony Hall including the Lord Mayor, Deputy Lord Mayor and Lord Lieutenant of Birmingham.

Special guests included Choirs from Stafford Grammar School, Stafford Prep School, Sandwell School Choirs, Stafford Grammar Big Band and the Shireland Collegiate Academy Steel Pans.

The theme Christmas Around the World was further brought to life by the energetic singing of our African Choir and our musical groups. A nativity presented by the youngest children in our church reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus born to be the Saviour of the world.

“God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life”  John 3: 16  Contemporary English Version

Christmas With The Salvation Army is just a part of a very busy programme that takes place in the city during the Festive Season. Both our children’s and senior band have been carolling in the City Centre and in the days leading up to Christmas toy and food parcels will be distributed and carols shared with children and staff at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

On Christmas Day we host guests from all over the city and share in Christmas Morning Worship @ 10.30am, followed by a delicious festive lunch and entertainment.

In all our activities we endeavour to share the good news that Jesus is the hope of the world.
