Launch of The Self Denial Missionary Appeal 2014

07.02.2014

This coming Sunday will see the launch of The Salvation Army Self Denial Missionary Appeal when members of The Salvation Army are called to look at the work of their partners around the world. Each developed country where the Army is currently working is asked to take responsibility for looking after their Partners in Mission those countries where it is severely challenging to run programmes and services in the name of The Salvation Army.

The United Kingdom with the Republic of Ireland has responsibility for looking after Argentina, Finland, Ghana, Mozambique, Pakistan, Paraguay & Uruguay. Members of the congregation are challenged to give something of their personal finances to support those who require on-going support.

Monies raised are sent directly to the Salvation Army in each of these countries to support the existing work amongst children, the poor and marginalised – whatever is required to ensure that the work of The Salvation Army can continue.

This year we are being challenged to reach out in faith through our giving, recognising how privileged we are to be blessed with so much wealth and resources.

On Sunday 9th March there is opportunity for us to give a special offering (Altar Service) during our worship services at 10.30 am & 5pm
