An inspiring weekend with Bill Himes

We were so pleased to welcome William Himes for the weekend. Bill was immediately thrown in at the deep end after landing in the UK with a band rehearsal, then a full day rehearsing with school bands in Stafford and a concert in the evening. 

On Saturday he joined with Derick Kane (ISB) and Stephen Kane (Cory Band) and rehearsed with a group of young brass players and talked about how important it is to practice and learn about music.

Saturday evening saw our Band hold a concert featuring our guests and the young people.

On Sunday Bill led our services and spoke from the heart about what we pray for and why we pray and making sure that our prayers are not throwaway prayers but prayers that serve a purpose and how a throwaway prayer had changed his life and the life of an elderly person he was praying for. He also talked very personally throughout the day and we were all able to witness the depth and level of spirituality he has. 
Each of the music sections played or sang music Bill had written and the whole day was a very special time.

We would like to thank Bill for his witness, his Godly ways and his teaching throughout the whole time he was in Birmingham.
