Easter 2017

17.04.2017

The Easter weekend started with a Good Friday Service to consider the sacrifice on the Cross so that we might live free of Sin. The Band, Songsters and Singing Company took part in the meeting.

Afterwards, another meeting was held outdoors in the City Centre where music and dance attracted the crowds of Bank Holiday shoppers and members of the Church handed out Hot Cross Buns, Palm Crosses, Bible Texts and children’s books about Easter. Our #Churchinthestreet activities always draw hundreds of people during the time we are there and this was no exception.

The March back to the Hall followed.

On Saturday morning some of the more energetic folk met at Clent Hills for breakfast baps and a walk around the hills, it was a time for fellowship and chats away from church and a chance to get some fresh air.

Easter Sunday the whole Corps met once again to celebrate the Resurrection and to rejoice that Jesus Lives. The Hall was decorated with help from the members of “Girls Night Out “, a ladies group that meets every month at The Citadel. Captain Clare Allman’s bible message will appear in the Sound clips section soon.
