‘The Way of the Desert’ – Bishop Watson’s reflections on Lent

The Bishop of Aston, Andrew Watson, preached during Birmingham Citadel’s morning service today.

He spoke of Jesus’ life and ministry alongside Israel’s time in the desert and spoke of the importance of having strong roots in the Word of the Lord so that we can all get through those difficult and challenging times that may come our way.

The Bishop also used the opportunity to introduce his book – ‘The Way of the Desert’ – a series of reflections on the story of Moses and the Exodus. The book, written for use during the lent period, offers 47 chapters – one for each day from Ash Wednesday to Easter morning and is to be used by the Birmingham Citadel congregation as its members considers how they can go deeper in their relationship with Jesus.

The Bishop was very warmly received and provided prayerful insight into the Lent period.
