17.05.2024

On Sunday 12 May 2024 we were so excited and privileged to see SIX new Senior Soldiers enrolled during our meeting. please note there is no meeting on Boxing Day (Sunday 26 December 2021)

This last week has seen Covid cases increasing daily amid the Omicron wave. We have been monitoring news and have tried to keep options open for as long as we can. In light of the ever changing situation, the decision has been made to alter our Sunday activities today to minimise the risks involved. It has therefore been decided to cancel our planned Corps Carol Service at 4.00 pm and instead to make our morning meeting at 10:30am our Carol Service. Many of the features that would have been included in the afternoon service, will be included in the morning instead. In doing this, we minimise the time people will spend at the hall whilst also giving opportunity for our congregation to celebrate the birth of Christ in the form of a carol service.

We are pleased to present Cheryl as our newest Senior Soldier(member), enrolled by Captain Clare Allman.Cheryl’s Daughter, Son in Law and 4 grandsons are Senior or Junior Soldiers and they invited Cheryl to come to the meetings. She used to attend Birmingham Aston as a child where Major Brian Snell(pictured) was her Corps Officer.Recently Cheryl made the decision to become a Senior Soldier and has been sharing her faith with people she meets. Cheryl brought lots of friends, neighbours and family to support her on this memorable day. Her Grandson, Krystian, was holding the flag during the ceremony.

The next baby to be Dedicated (welcomed as a member of our Church family) was Elijah who was born almost a year ago.

Major Adrian Allman dedicated Elijah and challenged his parents, Louise and Adam, and they Godparents to be good Christian examples so that he grows up in a household where God is part of the family.

As you can see he is a very happy baby with a lovely smile.

Captain Clare Allman conducted the Dedication service of Tilly Lamplough on Sunday 5 September 2021. It was originally planned in advance for the first Sunday of what became the Lockdown period in 2020, so it was fitting that the first of 9 babies to be dedicated at Birmingham Citadel should be Tilly.

The 4th daughter of the Bandmaster and Singing Company leader was in fine form during the service and provided some smiles during this important part of her Christian journey.

You can watch the whole service on our Livestream platform.
