Harvest Celebrations

02.10.2015

We have recently celebrated our Harvest Thanskgiving with a day of worship for all ages.

Captain John McLean who is soon to take up an new role as leader of The Salvation Army in Leamington Spa led us in  a thought provoking morning encouraging us to think carefully about the talents God has given and how we must harvest them for the growth of God’s Kingdom. He reminded us that the talents have been ‘lent’ to us and to think carefully about the value we place upon them.

Worship was relaxed, informal and included the Singing Company (Junior Choir) singing ‘A Harvest Samba’  and a song from the primary members (the youngest members) of our church.

The morning commenced with the children of our church parading in with their harvest baskets, the donations of which will be put to practical use in our weekly food bank.

Sunday @ 5 took the form of a Harvest Praise featuring our musical groups and including the farewell to Captain John McLean.

John had been the Assistant Officer for the past fifteen months and has made a significant impact to the life of the corps together with this children.

The day concluded with a Harvest Supper.

It was a great day of worship, thanks and praise to a God who continually provides for our needs. Harvest is a great opportunity to remind ourselves of His provision.
